Fall 2007 Courses start the week of September 10th

• Introduction to Research – SSS-Sec.#5

This course introduces students to undergraduate research. As part of this process, the course strives to build research confidence, involve students in discussions, readings, exercises, and peer presentations. Students will also develop an academic research proposal.

Academic Strategies-Sec.#2

Students will attend skill development workshops that will strengthen academic skills. In class, they will receive academic evaluation, general advising, course planning and introduce campus support services and resources.  This is an orientation seminar for incoming SSS Scholars Academy students.

This course provides the steps leading to successful graduate school admissions. It is a seminar for second semester junior and first semester senior students who plan to apply to graduate and professional programs.

Academic Mentoring Workshop-Sec.#3

Students who have upper division class standing will learn to share their academic skills and mentor peers to help them succeed at UC Berkeley. This class is for students who have been Cal for at least one year and want to assist a new SSS student.
